How long have you been working here?
Brought up in North West London, I qualified as a Dental Practitioner from Turner Dental Hospital, Manchester in 1983. I worked as an associate in various dental practices until 1987. My wife and I bought our own practice in October 1987 in Forestdale, Croydon. We relocated to larger premises in 1999 which are currently known as Ramani Dental Practice and where I am a Principal Dentist.
Most enjoyable aspect of the job:
I enjoy the challenge of running and managing my own dental practice and working alongside dedicated team members. Our ethos and values have always included delivering high standards of dentistry in a friendly relaxed environment with the focus on placing patient's interests first and making the patient experience as comfortable as possible. I have invested a lot of time in improving my skills by attending Postgraduate courses. My dedication to Postgraduate studies also extends to encouraging my whole team to undertake similar continuous professional development.
I enjoy the challenge of treating patients of all age groups and, in particular, practicing cosmetic and endodontic dentistry.
I am also a Dental Foundation Educational Supervisor. This involves coaching, supervising and mentoring new graduates in their early years in general practice.
I am married with two grown-up daughters. My wife is a joint partner at Ramani Dental Practice.
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy watching sports, cycling, golf, keeping fit, socialising, eating out and travelling.
Outside clinical dentistry, I am an elected member of Croydon Local Dental Committee and Chairman of the Croydon Branch of the British Dental Association Committee.
